You should be able to identify by sight each of the items listed in the Dissection Lab notes. Also, know what each of those items does and how it works. We've repeatedly reviewed these during the dissection days, but as you study go back to the Electronic Components notes page to jog your memory. I suggest also reviewing the notes pages on transformers, AC power adapters, and the Connections Between Electricity & Magnetism pages (these had sketches on how CRT's work, for example). The practical will also cover how motors, generators, speakers, microphones, solenoids and transformers work. For example, I might ask you to identify the coil of a speaker (as opposed to the speaker as a whole) and ask you to describe step-by-step how the speaker produces sound. Also, remember the HowStuffWorks.com pages assigned in the Dissection Lab page. I will ask questions that probe your broad understanding of how these various devices work, not little details.
